Validus Health ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App"). Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.
We collect information that you provide directly to us, including: (a) Account information (email address, name, birth date, location); (b) Health information (dietary preferences, health goals, food scan history); (c) Device information (device ID, operating system, app version); (d) Usage data (scan history, feature usage, app interactions). We may also collect information automatically through cookies and similar technologies.
We use the information we collect to: (a) Provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features; (b) Personalize your experience and provide health recommendations; (c) Process transactions and send related information; (d) Send you technical notices, updates, and support messages; (e) Respond to your comments and questions; (f) Monitor and analyze usage patterns and trends; (g) Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security threats.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances: (a) With your consent; (b) To comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests; (c) To protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property; (d) With service providers who perform services on our behalf (under strict confidentiality agreements); (e) In connection with a business transfer or merger. We may share aggregated, anonymized data that cannot identify you.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The App collects health-related information, including dietary preferences, health goals, and food scan history. This information is used to personalize your experience and provide health recommendations. This information is protected under our privacy practices and is not shared with third parties except as described in this Privacy Policy. You can access and update your health information through the App settings. You can delete your health information at any time by contacting us at support@validushealth.ai.
The App is not intended for children under 9 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly.
You have the right to: (a) Access your personal information; (b) Correct inaccurate information; (c) Request deletion of your information; (d) Object to or restrict processing of your information; (e) Data portability (receive a copy of your data); (f) Withdraw consent at any time. You can delete your account directly from the App at Profile > Delete Account. The in-app flow permanently removes your profile, scan history, and saved choices, severs identifying references on data you contributed to the product corpus, and deletes your authentication record. Some features may be limited if you choose to restrict data collection.
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the App services and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. When you delete your account: (a) your profile, scan history, saved choices, and authentication records are permanently removed; (b) data you contributed to the product corpus (such as nutrition submissions and product corrections) is retained but your identifying references are replaced so it is no longer linked to you; (c) database point-in-time recovery backups continue to retain a copy for up to 35 days as a system-recovery safeguard; (d) a limited deletion audit record is retained for up to 7 years to satisfy legal/regulatory obligations. Your subscription is managed by Apple or Android and is not cancelled by deleting your Validus Health account. To stop billing, please cancel your subscription in your phone's settings on your device.
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries. We take appropriate safeguards to ensure your information receives adequate protection.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated Privacy Policy in the App or by other means. Your continued use of the App after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
